Homerton lays great emphasis on Sports.Excellent sports facilities and the services of dedicated coaches in different disciplines have made the school sports contingent a formidable force on the play field. The school boasts of strong teams in Kabaddi, Badminton, Football, Basketball, Volleyball & Table Tennis. Each year students give trials in the Homerton Sports Festival to become part of the school team for that session. The result of this Sports Culture is that the teams have brought laurels to the school by winning District, State and National level tournaments.
The school also ensures that children of all groups are exposed to physical activity and each one gets a chance to participate in any kind of indoor or outdoor sports.
An array of cultural activities are held in the school, ranging from celebration of Religious, Social and National Festivals. We encourage students to take part in these activities in form of Dance, Drama & Music. Students enthusiastically take part in these activities to exhibit their talents. Inter House Competitions are also done to foster a spirit of competition through performing arts.
The UNESCO Associated Schools Network (ASPnet) links educational institutions across the world around a common goal: to build the defences of peace in the minds of children and young people. We are the first school in Faridabad to get associated with UNESCOASPnet, we celebrate major International Days to give exposure and generate awareness on Global Humanitarian issues faced by the World today.
International Days like ‘English Language Day’, ‘World Creativity & Innovation Day’, ‘World Press Freedom Day’, ‘International Youth skill Day’ etc…are celebrated in the school where students get chance to learn about these days, celebrate and support the cause.
Being associated with the very prestigious ‘Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards’, the International Award for Young People (IAYP) is the most adaptable and successful youth empowerment program. The Award’s concept is one of individual challenge, giving young people a balanced, non-competitive programme of voluntary activities which encourage personal discovery and growth, self-reliance, perseverance, responsibility to themselves and service to their community. Under this our students are doing a number of community services like working with NGO’s to support the underprivileged students, holding rallies with Indian Red Cross Society to bring awareness about plastic.
